Connections Through Wood

A Film for an Exhibition Displaying work by Woodworkers

Brass Hand Studios was hired to produce, direct, and edit a film to tell the story of 8 craftspeople & their various connections to wood as a material. Touching on the pleasures of hand-crafting, the environmental effects of mass production, and the traditional nature of their crafts; the film aims to leave the viewer with an understanding of what the contributors working world is like, and some of the challenges they face.

What Brass Hand Studios did…

  • The contributors of the project were worked closely with to ensure it matched their creative vision.

  • All 8 of the shoots were produced, directed and shot by Brass Hand. The interviews were conducted by Brass Hand after a consultation with the leading contributors.

  • A selection of social media reels with custom titles were delivered to promote the exhibition, and tease the film.

  • A final film was delivered lasting 12 minutes. It was colour graded, sound mixed, and prepared for projection in the exhibition.
